FOH Manager
Morrison Street Café is an extremely busy café with a large number of regular customers. The applicant for this position would need to have excellent leadership qualities, and the communication skills to motivate the large team at Morrison Street Café and deliver the high standard of customer service required.
Barista
Morrison Street Café is well known for its espresso, winning many awards. Full training is given but a passion for espresso and being able to multi-task is required as speed is essential.
Waitperson
Morrison Street Café provides friendly table service to a large regular customer base. A waitperson at Morrison Street Café needs to be professional and able to cope in a busy and demanding atmosphere.
Cleaner
Many people will not go back to a cafe that is not clean. Therefore we regard this as one of the most important positions in the café. Previous experience is not essential but the ability to see dirt and take the time to clean it is.
Head Chef
Morrison Street Café is a Nelson institution - the favoured place for many to have breakfast, lunch, morning and afternoon tea. The menu is modern New Zealand cuisine and the head chef would need to have flair with food, and great organisational and communication skills to run this busy kitchen.
Chef
The kitchen team at Morrison Street Café is small; the necessary skills required are:
To be able to multi-task in a noisy and stressful environment.
To be multi-talented - able to work quickly on the grill and able to bake. Ordering skills are also necessary.
Kitchen Porter
The kitchen porter would not only wash dishes but on some occasions they may be required to clear tables and do some kitchen preparation. Therefore you would need to be presentable, work quickly, and show and have a willingness to learn.
